Google Announces Innovations That Will Make The Internet Safer For Children!
Google talked about the innovations it brought to its services to make the internet safer for children. Chief among these innovations is making it easier to remove images displayed in search results. In this context, children will be able to remove their photos that they unconsciously uploaded to the internet more easily. Parents can also apply for this service on behalf of their children.
It is known by everyone that the internet is suitable for children to a certain extent due to its depth. For this reason, there are many software/programs on the market to keep children away from harmful content. However, although these programs do their best, when we look at the content such as advertisements or videos, we can see that they are not always protected.
This increases the number of risks posed by unconscious use. Especially when it comes to children, it is easy to experience millions of different bad scenarios. Google also announced innovations that aim to make the internet safer for children. There are many innovations, from removing unconsciously uploaded photos to improvements made in age-restricted ads.
Deleting Photos from Search Results for Kids Will Become Easy! (Parents can do too)
One of the innovations offered by Google is making it easier for children to remove images from search results. Google, which is among the most preferred images in the world, will allow those under the age of 18 to easily remove their photos that appear in the image search section, as part of this convenience. In addition, parents can make this request on behalf of their children.
Google underlines that when an image is removed, it is not removed from the entire internet, but only displayed in search results. This means that the photo floating on the internet will be less visible. Other innovations are as follows:
• Besides images, Google defaults the video upload setting to the most private option for YouTube users aged 13-17.
• In the search section, SafeSearch is kept open by default for users under the age of 18. This will apply to both existing and newly opened accounts.
• In the Assistant section, Google will also disable location history for users under the age of 18 and include a section that allows parents to be aware of which applications are used.
• When it comes to advertisements, it is stated that studies are continuing at full speed to better prevent advertisements that are not suitable for children.
Facilitating image removal from search results will be available in the coming weeks. We can expect the image removal to be the same as other innovations cover both existing and new accounts.
