Private Insurance Registrations End! So when is the deadline?
The registration period for health insurance ends soon. The deadline for families to review their current coverage and register for health insurance ends on August 15.
After the American Recovery Plan became law earlier this year, Biden and the board management decided to initiate the special enrollment period.
Initially, registration was expected to close on May 15, but Xavier Beccera, Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, has decided to extend it until August 15 so that the U.S. public can enjoy lower premiums and costs.
"Whether Central Virginians are reconsidering current coverage or enrolling in health insurance for the first time, these savings can make a real, tangible difference to themselves and their family members," Congressman Abigail Spanberger said. “Marketplace health insurance is more affordable than previous prices.
With the special enrollment period just around the corner, I hope many Central Virginians can take the time to view their savings and reconsider all their options. This extended enrollment period and lower premiums backed by the American Recovery Plan provide a great opportunity for families in District Seven to embrace both the low-priced coverage they need and the convenience of health insurance.”
In addition to lowering premiums, the American Recovery Plan decided to raise tax credits for health insurance coverage.
