RIYADH: The Saudi aid agency KSrelief has distributed food to thousands of people around the world, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Saturday.
In Indonesia, KSrelief distributed 1,079 food baskets in West Java province, benefiting 4,620 people.
The food assistance is part of the Ramadan food basket distribution program implemented by KSrelief in Indonesia, in cooperation with the National Board of Zakat of Indonesia, which aims to distribute 7,965 food baskets in West Java, East Jakarta and other regions.
The Saudi aid center distributed 400 food baskets to the neediest families in the South African city of Mogale as part of KSrelief’s Ramadan food basket project, Etaam.
In Montenegro, KSrelief distributed 100 food baskets in Rozaje town, benefiting 500 people from the neediest groups. The project aims to distribute 8,700 food baskets among needy individuals in Montenegro during Ramadan.
In Albania, KSrelief distributed 450 food baskets to the neediest families in Shkoder city, benefiting 2,250 individuals from 450 families. The project aims to distribute 5,300 food baskets in 35 Albanian governorates, benefiting needy families during the holy month.
In Bangladesh, KSrelief handed out 500 food baskets to needy families in Khairash, Sat Mahor and Pabna, benefiting 2,500 individuals.
Since 2015, KSrelief has implemented 2,670 projects worth more than $6.5 billion in 95 countries, in cooperation with 175 local, regional and international partners. The bulk of the support has gone to Yemen ($4.3 billion), Syria ($391 million), Palestine ($370 million) and Somalia ($227 million).
KSrelief’s programs cover food security, health, sanitation, shelter, nutrition, education, telecommunications and logistics.
